Swayze Alford, PC - Attorney

Swayze earned his B.B.A. in Accounting in 1984 from Ole Miss, followed by his Juris Doctor in 1990 from the University of Mississippi School of Law. He was admitted to practice in MS, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts, and the U.S Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Over the past two decades, Swayze has assisted clients throughout the state, and uniquely served the Ole Miss community. His clients are often referred to him for his experience in divorce, DUI, and criminal defense work. In addition to his client work, he has returned on occasion to teach at the UM Law School as an adjunct professor.

Swayze was named a Fellow of the Mississippi Bar Foundation and inducted on July 15, 2020. The Fellows designation is the Foundations highest honor where only 10% of the lawyers in Mississippi are eligible for membership as a fellow.  Their selection is recognition by their peers that the attorney has achieved the highest level of professionalism, competence and leadership.

He is also humbled to be recognized by his colleagues in the 2015, 2016 and 2019 publication of Super Lawyers. Other associations include the MS State Bar Mentor Project, Past President of the Lafayette Co. Bar Assoc., Past President of the Tri-County Young Lawyers and a member of the American and MS Bar Associations. Swayze, a third generation Oxonian, enjoys deep roots that come with being raised in a town and community where his father and grandfather were recognized for their work at Ole Miss. 

KAYLA WARE

ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY

Kayla graduated in 2012 from the University of Mississippi School of Law with her Juris Doctor and received her Bachelor of Arts in English from Ole Miss as well. She is admitted to practice in MS and the U.S. District courts for the Northern and Southern Districts. While in law school Kayla clerked for Mayo Mallette in Oxford and Bailey & Womble in Batesville. Following her graduation from law school, she served as a law clerk for Chancellor Vicki Daniels. Kayla then joined Swayze in 2013 as an associate. She is certified as a Guardian ad Litem and finds her work with foster children to be very rewarding. Kayla currently serves as Director for the North-West District of the Young Lawyers Division. Her work focuses primarily on divorce and family law. Kayla’s blend of compassion and strength provides an invaluable asset that is appreciated by her colleagues and clients.
